Ear Wax Removal

Description

Micro suction earwax removal is performed using a microscope and a medical suction device to suck out the wax. A very thin steel fitting is fitted to the end of the suction tube which allows us to gently suck out the earwax from your canal.

The first part of the process is to examine your ear using a microscope and using the low-pressure suction device, safely remove the blockage. If your hearing has felt like it has been diminished, we will perform a hearing screen pre and post removal to ensure the wax was the cause. We will also perform a tamp to check there is no fluid behind your ear drum.

Why Ear Wax Removal

A Good View We have a great view of both the earwax and the ear canal. It means that we can always see what we are doing. Making it easier for us and safe for you.

Not Messy No water is used or flushed into the ear canal as happens with ear syringing or ear irrigation. Instead, the procedure is dry which significantly reduces any risk of infection.

Safe Unlike ear syringing and ear irrigation, it is safe for people who have a perforated eardrum or mastoid cavity, in addition to any foreign object that may be lodged inside the ear canal.
